Monochrome Aztec Print and Bright Yellow

Hello Fam,

Right now, AZTEC print is IN!!! and today’s post is going to be centered on its origin.

The inspiration of fashion comes from things we can’t even imagine.
From tree barks to insects, fashion is inspired by the bizarre and the new.
Ancient civilizations and their cultures too have been a great influence on fashion and given rise to distinct trends.

Tribal prints or Aztec print is one of such trend that is making the rounds and has caught on as one of the hottest trends of the year.

Aztec is a tribal group that originated from Mexico and wore clothes that primarily consisted of zig-zag lines which is similar to the modern version of Aztec we see today.

These zig-zag patterns in black and white, monochromes and colourful prints are so different and breathtakingly fresh.

Maybe it’s our usual crave for ‘something old’ or the usual fashion rush anyhow, the Aztec print has become the ‘style du jour’.

Brands like Zara, Mango, Asos, Urban Outfitters and many others have collections exclusively dedicated to Aztec print too, which are doing great.

The hottest trend of the season, Aztec print can make you look instantly trendy. A street side flair with a cultured edge, Aztec print gives you a dreamy feel of the far-off and ancient lands.

Check out knonyekouture's previous post on the famous Aztec print pencil skirt paired with a black chiffon top HERE .

Now before I bore you with History, Here’s one way to rock the Aztec Print:

Aztec print pencil skirt with a long black zipper (from waist to slit) behind, a bright yellow chiffon top paired with a black belly-belt, a black open-toed boots and a red bag.

Bright yellow chiffon Top: KnonyeKouture

Belt:                                Random Store
Shoes:                             Bamboo
Bag:                                Fashion Star
Neckpiece:                      Random Store

How to wear:
1.    Pair Aztec print with other textures like chiffon (Like the pictures above)
2.   Pair with denim (Jackets, Tops, jeans, etc).
3. Add a splash of colour (bright coloured garment) on monochrome Aztec print.

Basically, mix and match Aztec prints and colours but balance bright colours with subtle, pale or neutral colours and you'd be good to go!!!
